A favourite bathing place and resort with a charming sandy beach with a nudist area. Worth seeing is a fisherman’s’ cottage exhibiting the history of fishing in the lagoon, there is also the possibility to take a trip with a “Zeesboot” which is a beautiful traditional sailing cutter from the region.

A short cut to the tour of some 34 km is by taking the passenger ferry to Karnin. The imposing ruin of the railway bridge at Karnin that once served the railway route between Berlin and Swinemünde.

Otto-Lilienthal-Museum in Anklam

The museum exhibits Lilienthals flying machines and the further history of flight. The Aeronauticon is a museum park to view, to play with and to touch aircraft and their apparatus.

The town lies directly on the River Peene and offers an inviting promenade. Tourist attractions of the town are the Powder Tower, a Gothic gable house that is documented from 1406 and also the "Steintor" Town Gate that is the only remaining gate of the town and which is occupied today by the towns museum.
