The historical old town centre has been beautifully restored.
The Marien Church dating from the 13th century has helped to form the historical old town centre. The 53 m high church tower, built from glacial boulders, is one of the highest buildings in the region.
The Baroque town hall with its classical façade was first documented in 1560.
The Angermünde Monastery complex was first mentioned in 1299. The Monasteries church is used today as the towns’ cultural centre.
The Powder Tower is the only intact structure that has the remains of the old town wall still attached. Without a break, there have been storks nesting on top of this decorative tower since 1850.
